Ways to Make Gmail Chat Feature More Dynamic

If you use Gmail, Chat is the built-in instant messaging service that you can use to instantly talk to people on your contacts list. It’s a nifty and convenient feature, but there are ways to make it more interesting and useful .

Chat’s format is pretty straightforward, but you can add emphasis to your text in order to get your point across easily. For instance, you can bold, italicize, and even strikethrough your text.

To make your text bold, put an asterisk on either side of the desired text. Simple!

*This would all be bold* if I entered it into Chat, since all of those words are within asterisks.

You can bold only *single* words or different words in the same sentence, such as : *This* is *TOTALLY* the best thing *ever!* . Whatever words are inside the asterisks will be bold.

You can also italicize words following the principles above, but using the underscore key in lieu of the asterisks.

_This would all be italicized_ if I entered it into Google Chat, because all of those words are within the underscores.

You can italicize a _single_ word or _multiple words_ in a _single_ sentence. The choice is yours!

To make a strikethrough, just add a hyphen before and after the desired word(s).

- This would all have a strike running through it - because all of those words are contained within the hyphen.

You –can’t- CAN do this with – a billion words- a single word or with multiple –pictures- words in a single sentence!

Easy, right? And of course you could combo those formatting codes.

*_This would be bold and italicized_*

*-_This would be bold, italicized, and strikethrough_-*

-_This would be italicized and strikethrough_-

*-This would be bold and strikethrough-*

Unfortunately, there is not yet a way to underline your text in Google Chat in Gmail.

You can also go “off record” when using Google Chat. “Off record” simply means Google won’t store any of the conversation. Google by default saves your chat history. If you want to discuss something that you’d rather not have saved, make sure to go off record first.

To do this, open a chat window with the person you wish to speak with, and then click on the “Actions” tab in the upper right hand corner of the google chat window. Click on “Go off the Record”

 

To go back on the record, click on the “Actions” tab again and then click on “Stop chatting off the record”. All of your text would then be saved.

 

If you want to look up your past chat conversations, simply go up to the search bar in Gmail and type in the code is:chat

 

A list of your past conversations will appear for you to peruse. This is extremely helpful if you know you have discussed something in the past but can’t remember specific information.

All of these tips are easy implement and make Gmail’s Chat more dynamic very quickly. Enjoy!

How to Use Google AdWords with Clickbank Products

Google AdWords is one of the many ways to earn money with internet marketing, and although it’s not the preferred method for everyone, countless people have earned a HEFTY chunk of change by running AdWords campaigns. If you are currently running such campaigns, or if you are thinking about potentially delving into AdWords campaigns, this post is especially for you.

First and foremost, it’s super important to read the Google AdWords Terms of Service (TOS) and Advertising Policies. It’s critical to understand what’s allowed and not allowed when running AdWords campaigns, because one false move and your AdWords account could be suspended forever! Unfortunately, once your account has been suspended there is absolutely no recourse for you.

I’m not here to discuss the ethical implications of how making an honest mistake could completely derail a stream of income for eternity (with no chance for a person to appeal their decision, even if it’s erroneous) nor do I want to discuss how thousands of people recently checked their email only to find their AdWords account had been suspended, often times without warning, for previously acceptable behavior.

Instead, I want to explain how you can still run completely legitimate and safe AdWords campaigns for your Clickbank (or Clickbank-affiliated) products.

It’s easy to do…just follow these instructions.

Step 1.) Duplicate the sales page and put it on your domain. It’s as easy as right-clicking the sales page in question to view the source code and copy-pasting the results. You MUST check with the Clickbank product owner for permission to do this first.

Attention Affiliates: since we sell Micro Niche Finder on Clickbank, consider this as an official “permission granted” proclamation. There is no need to submit a support ticket asking for our permission to duplicate our sales page.

Step 2.) Once you have copy-pasted the .html script from the sales page, insert this code somewhere near the top of the page:

Replace CBAFFID with your Clickbank affiliate ID and replace PRODUCTID with the vendors Clickbank ID.

Let’s suppose that you are promoting Micro Niche Finder and your affiliate ID is batman. The code that you must insert near the top of your page would look like this:

Notice the placement of “batman” and “kickbutt” (your Clickbank ID and Our Clickbank ID, respectively).

If you change the code above so that it relates to you and put this on your AdWords landing page (which is our sales page you copy-pasted onto your domain) you will get credit for the sale.

And now, a final word about duplicating the sales page.

While our affiliates have permission to duplicate our sales page verbatim, you can also write your own original content (or even just slighlty tweak/spin our content) so that it’s different from all the other Micro Niche Finder affiliate landing pages.  One example of this would be to put a video review of the product and then link directly to the product order form. As long as you have the code above on your page you’ll get credit for the sale.

If you use our sales page as your landing page, DO NOT make outlandish claims. Stick to the facts we give on our sales page. In fact, if you want our sales page to be your landing page keep all the content that was on our sales page intact (just add the code so you get the sale) and do not change anything. This is the fastest way to get your AdWords campaign started!

If you choose to write original content (such as the video example we gave above), do not exaggerate or make false claims. Our product is good, you don’ t need to fib about it (not that you would, anyway)! …Besides, you don’t want the FCC or Google to punish you for making false claims.

By either copy-pasting our sales page verbatim or by putting unique (and truthful) content on your AdWords landing page in addition to including the code given above, you should have a safe AdWords campaign up and running in no time!

Three Ways to Make Your Google Chrome More Awesome!

Everyone has their favorite web browser and if your preferred browser is Google Chrome, this list of three ways to make your Google Chrome even better might be highly useful to you.

First and foremost, one of the best “tricks” with Google Chrome is the ability to open multiple pages simultaneously when you open the browser. If you like to check multiple websites, this feature is so incredibly useful…and it’s easy to do.

Open your Google Chrome browser, and you’ll notice a small wrench icon at the end of the search box (top right corner of the page). Click on that wrench, then click “options”.

You’ll then see a screen pop-up with three tabs. Click on the tab that says “Basics”.

Next, you’ll add the websites you want to automatically open up by clicking where it says “on startup… open the following pages.”

It’s so easy and it saves so much time!

The next great time saving feature of Google Chrome is the AutoFill. If you find that you are constantly entering in your address or credit card information, this feature may suit your needs very well.

Once again you will click on wrench icon in the top right corner of the screen. Click on “options”. Instead of going to the “basics” tab, click on the “Personal Stuff” tab. From here you will see an “AutoFill Options” button. Click on it!

A screen will then pop up and you will have the option of entering your address by clicking on the “add address” button. It will take you to a screen where you can add your address so that Google Chrome can fill in your web forms quickly and easily!

You can also do this for your credit card information – instead of clicking the “add address” button, click the “add credit card button”.

The next feature is perhaps my favorite feature, and if you tend to multitask this feature might become one of your favorites too.

Sometimes I find myself opening so many tabs (I need them all!) that I run out of space. When the tabs start creeping their way down the side of the screen, I almost always lose track of them; when I realize how many tabs I have open I sometimes feel overwhelmed because the screen looks so cluttered. If you’ve never been in that position, great! If you have opened a lot of tabs before though you probably know just what I mean :-(

This is why Google Chrome’s “Pin Tab” function is so unbelievably great: to save space, Google Chrome shrinks the tab size to the size of a favicon (the website’s main icon).

To do this, right-click on the tab you want to shrink:

And then your tabs will change to look like this!:

Look at all that space you save! The Pin Tab is a fraction of a full tab, so a lot more space opens. It’s easy to find the tab you need, you don’t need to close your tabs to conserve space, and the screen doesn’t look cluttered. If you want to undo the Pin Tab, just right-click on it and click the “Unpin tab” option.

These are three of our favorite Google Chrome features, although there are many more. If you have a feature that you use all the time, feel free to share it! :-D
