If you are ever using Micro Niche finder and encounter a problem with captchas, try fixing it in the ways detailed in this article. If this doesn’t work, send us a support ticket and we’ll get you back on track, but generally speaking most captcha problems can be fixed quickly and easily on your own!
If you see an image like the one above, the very first thing to do is to confirm if you have completed the Adwords login registration in Micro Niche Finder. You can do this from your Micro Niche Finder homepage by clicking on the options tab:
You will then click on the small tab in the lower corner labeled Options:
Then click on the tab that says AdWords Login Settings
Fill in the appropriate information if necessary and then hit the “Click to Test the Login” button.
If you do not have an Adwords account (don’t worry, it’s 100% free) you can register for one by following these easy instructions given at the websites below:
http://www.ehow.com/how_5075548_start-google-adwords-account.html
http://www.google.com/intl/en/ads/
After completing registration in Micro Niche Finder, click the “Manage Searches” tab near the top of the page and delete the searches ( or at least just the searches that failed to return results or had the blank captcha error).
It is also a good idea to clear your Internet Explorer’s ‘s cache. You might already know how to do this, but this website explains the process succinctly: http://www.ehow.com/how_8423555_refresh-cache-ie.html
Another thing to check is that your anti-virus/firewall lists Micro Niche Finder as a trusted program/application. Occasionally, some anti-virus software considers the update a completely new program and default blocks it. If you see it on your anti-virus/firewall list as a blocked program, simply unblock it and the problem should be fixed.
Finally, you will want to close and restart Micro Niche Finder and try a new search. The problem most likely is resolved by now – but if it isn’t, please submit a support ticket and we’ll be happy to help!

Micro Niche Finder ToGo USB Drive
When you receive your Micro Niche Finder ToGo USB Drive in the mail, it will have a recent (possibly even THE most recent) version of Micro Niche Finder on it. However, we frequently update Micro Niche Finder and while the software downloaded onto your computer will notify you when new releases are available, your USB will not automatically receive notifications of updates.
It’s easy to copy the latest version of Micro Niche Finder onto your ToGo USB drive, though. Put your USB into its proper port, open the folder, and copy the Micro Niche Finder exe file onto your USB.
To find the exe file, go to this License/Receipt page.
Once you have entered your receipt number, you will look for a link that reads “Micro Niche Finder Install”. Right click this link and copy it to your USB drive. It’s a very simple way to keep your USB up to date on the newest Micro Niche Finder features.
Sometimes, Google will place a block on searches. These occur for a variety of reasons only really and truly known to Google, but we have discovered some determining factors (such as the speed of inquiries). The good news is the blocks are always temporary.
If you suspect a “Google block” has been temporarily placed on you, go to Google’s site and attempt an “exact” (with quotes) search for one of the phrases which you are seeing this behavior.
Usually, a block with no CAPTCHA is more directly related to the search term, because normally Google will send a CAPTCHA image. There are some SOC words that Google will absolutely not return values: for example, any word that contains the word “sign” (like resign, design, etc.) or “comment” or “guest”.
Google blocks normally last from 1 to 4 hours. It’s not completely substantiated, but clearing your internet history and temporary files may speed up the process.
If you are running any other SEO-type software which uses Google data, your chances of being blocked will grow substantially.
This is a ‘temporary’ block, detailed in the link below:
http://www.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=86640
There’s no set rule on “when” a Google block will kick-in, though Google states it happens when they see a significant spike in queries. In my testing, it seems that 16 seconds between requests is the “sweet spot” for ensuring no Googleblock will occur.
If you use the Background Download Service (which does a request every 19 seconds), and someone else on your network is also doing Google queries, you may be blocked.
Micro Niche Finder allows you to view Google Trends for phrases. One may argue that it’s a lesser known feature on Micro Niche Finder, but it is certainly important when creating a comprehensive understanding about a particular niche.
When you find a phrase that appeals to you, click on that phrase and a narrow purple box will appear on the side. Click on “Google Trend”. A new internet window will automatically pop up showing you the Google Trend for your particular phrase. Using this graph, you can chart (over the course of years!) the rising and waning search popularity of a product. It will also show news articles that pertain to your phrase – for example, my phrase is “wine cooler” and it displayed six recent news articles about wine coolers.

Google Trends
One of the best uses for Google Trends is to determine if a particular niche market is seasonal in nature. You can very easily see by looking at the Google Trend Chart if the market peaks or valleys at certain times of the year.
By using this Google Trends feature in Micro Niche Finder, you have yet another tool to show you if the niche you are considering has great potential or not. Of course, the data provided by OCI, SOC, Ad Cost, Search Count, and Exact Search Count reign supreme; if a niche is on the fringe though, looking at the Google Trends for the term just may help you determine if the niche is worth your time or not!
