Facebook is about to offer its Initial Public Offering on the stock market (some people and firms will begin buying Facebook stock today, while the rest of us, if interested, have to wait until tomorrow). This is big news …especially if you’re already wealthy enough to afford to scoop up some shares, but it’s also noteworthy for anyone that uses Facebook. Facebook, which up until now has been a privately-held company, is going up for public consumption on the stock market; this means Facebook will be beholden to forces and market pressure outside of its control, even if Mark Zuckerberg (creator and CEO) remains at the helm of the company.

And what will investors want from Facebook? More profits so that the prices of their stocks increase, of course. Facebook already has a huge chunk of Earth’s population on Facebook, so gaining new users is going to eventually become a problem. The solution, therefore, is to maximize current users and try to monetize each and every one of its users in new ways.

The experts unanimously agree, and people I’ve had discussions with also agree, that more ads are inevitable. You may have become more aware of them in the last few days and weeks – ads on the logout page, on the home page, and of course, the ads on the side of your news feed…well, brace yourselves for more ads. Facebook has the data to target each person with ads tailored to their “likes”, so all of these future ads will be very focused. This increased amount of ads should present new opportunities to businesses that want to advertise on Facebook, so this could be very good for marketing (assuming users are not put off by the advertisements, and this remains to be seen).

Given how Facebook has methodically been extending its sphere of influence on the internet far beyond the confines of facebook.com, this new influx of cash means that Facebook will probably invest money in fields outside of social media (think of Google branching out via Android, its new Google glasses, etc. as an example). How Facebook will take its brand outside of social media is still a mystery, but in order to satisfy the ever-constant demands for profit on Wall Street, it is inevitable that Facebook will dive into new territory. This is great for entrepreneurs, start-ups, and other fledging businesses that are in desperate need of cash to get their great ideas off the ground. Who knows – maybe you will be one of the people/businesses that receive start-up or investment money as a side-effect of this IPO!

As far as privacy is concerned, Facebook has sworn up and down that users information will still be protected according to each individuals choice of privacy settings. Wall Street doesn’t exactly have the best or most reliable reputation (“You don’t say?” says everyone reading this) so many people are understandably nervous about how Facebook will balance user-data privacy with the pressure for increased profit. No one knows how this dynamic will play itself out; however, since Facebook will now be a public company, if it should renege on its privacy promises the consequences would be swift and detrimental to the company, and stock prices would go down. That’s really good incentive to NOT screw over Facebook users, so at this moment, I’m cautiously optimistic about Facebook going public.

If you use Avast! Free Antivirus 5 and notice that it might be interfering with Micro Niche Finder, these are directions for adding exclusions for Micro Niche Finder 5.0 specifically in Avast! Free Antivirus 5:

1.) Right click Avast! icon in system tray and select Open Avast! user interface command.

2.) In the appeared window click Settings button, then select Exclusions item and click the browse button. File or folder selection dialog will appear.

3.) If you have installed Micro Niche Finder to a custom drive or folder, navigate to this location now. Otherwise, navigate to the default install path of Micro Niche Finder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Micro Niche Finder 5.0 For 64bit systems
OR
C:\Program Files\Micro Niche Finder 5.0 For 32bit systems

4.) Select the ‘+’ icon to expand Micro Niche Finder 5.0 folder

5.) You will need to place check marks by the following three folders
-Micro Niche Finder 5.0
-AppData
-Data

These folders will now be added to exclusions.
Additionally, you should add these same folders to the File System Shield exceptions.

Here are the steps to do this:

1.) Select Real-Time Shield tab

2.)  Then File System Shield item and press Expert Settings button.

3.) In the appeared File System Shield Settings window select Exclusions item and press browse button on a new row.

4.) Then you need to point Avast! to the ‘Micro Niche Finder 5.0′; do this again for the ‘AppData’ folder, and again for the ‘Data’ folder.Now. Make sure to place check marks in the ‘R’ ‘W’ ‘X’ columns for each of these entries.

You should now have successfully added exclusions for Avast! Anti-virus 5. If for some reason this did not work, or if you have any questions, please contact our support team by submitting a ticket.

                          

If you use Norton 360 Antivirus, it may interfere with Micro Niche Finder and mislabel it as an untrusted source. To get Norton 360 Antivirus and Micro Niche Finder to both work, these are directions for adding exclusions for Micro Niche Finder 5.0 specifically in Norton 360 Antivirus.

1.) Start Norton 360.

2.) Click Settings.
3.) Click Antivirus Protection.
4.) On the Scans and Risks tab, under Exclusion/Low Risks, click Configure next to Scan Exclusions.
5.) Under Scan Exclusions, click Add.

6.) If you have installed Micro Niche Finder to a custom drive or folder, navigate to this location now. Otherwise, navigate to the default install path of Micro Niche Finder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Micro Niche Finder 5.0 For 64bit systems
OR
C:\Program Files\Micro Niche Finder 5.0 For 32bit systems

Select the “Micro Niche Folder 5.0″ and Click OK.

7.) Make sure to check Include Subfolders.

8.) Under Auto-Protect Exclusions, click Add.

9.) If you have installed Micro Niche Finder to a custom drive or folder, navigate to this location now. Otherwise, navigate to the default install path of Micro Niche Finder:

Google recently revealed that Automatic Message Translation is becoming a full-fledged feature in Gmail. For internet marketers that may have international clients who don’t speak English at all (or who do not speak English as a first language) this feature allows for easier communication.
It’s not 100% foolproof, but it sure beats copy & pasting into Google Translate (or busting out the dictionaries).
