If you keep track of your Facebook posts (which is easy to do if you have a Facebook Fan Page, since insights automatically come with it), you’ll inevitably see some patterns emerge concerning which days of the week are “best” for you to post and which days and times produce the most likes, shares, comments, etc.
Buddy Media noticed this too, so they and LinchpinSEO decided to research and monitor the activity of 1,800 Facebook pages. From this sample, they determined which days and times were best to post based on each Facebook page’s field. The result? While Facebook pages related to Technology really benefited from Monday posts, almost every other field (publishing, non-profits, etc.) got more interactions for each of their weekend posts.
Also interesting was the find that posts posted AFTER 8pm got more attention than posts that were written between 7am – 8pm, and that posting more than 7 times per week generally detracted from user’s willingness to interact with a page.
Hmmmmm. While these are interesting discoveries, I think it’s wrong to assume that there aren’t exceptions to the rules. How does your Facebook page(s) contrast or compare to these finds?
